L2TP/IPSec is a widely used legacy VPN Protocol and it supports most operating systems. It is very easy to set up directly on the OS and doesn’t require any additional software installation.

Requirements

  • Operating System- Android any version. For any other OS, go to our setup page.
  • An active Plan/Service on IPBurger.com. Follow this guide to purchase a plan.
  • Unrestricted Internet- If your ISP/Country is known to ban/block VPN Protocols, such as China, Iran, etc, this software/protocol won’t work. Please contact our support.

 

Connect to VPN with L2TP/IPSec

1. Get L2TP/IPSec Credentials For Your IP Address

L2TP/IPSec uses L2TP/IPSec protocol. Find your L2TP/IPSec Credentials from your Service Page.

Login to your account and find the IP address/Service you want to use.

Click on the Download VPN Credentials button and select L2TP/IPSec.

These are your VPN Credentials.

B. VPN

Access your VPN Service here. Click on the Manage button.

Click on the Download VPN Credentials button and select L2TP/IPSec.

 

Select a location.

2. Configure L2TP/IPSec in Android

Open Settings > Wireless and Networks > VPN (under More, if not found)

Tap the Add VPN.

L2TP - ADD VPNIn the form that appears,

  • Give it a friendly Name, like IPBurger.
  • Set Type as L2TP/IPSec PSK.
  • Copy Server (Server Address)IPSec Preshared Key (PSK)Username, and Password from your L2TP/IPSec Credentials.
  • Leave L2TP Secret and IPSec Identifier empty (not used).
  • Tap  Save.

3. Connect to VPN

Click on the Profile and enter username and password and then click on Connect.

Now you are connected to IPBurger VPN.
